DANA LEIPOLD (SHE/HER)

Flow, Yoga for Healthy Aging, Nidra

Dana has practiced yoga on and off for over 20 years. But it wasn't until she reached her fifties and she began to feel the effects of aging and a sedentary lifestyle that she decided to dive in deep to daily practices of yoga, meditation, and holistic nutrition. These practices have helped her build strength, flexibility, balance, agility, and most importantly equanimity. Dana completed her yoga instructor certification and holistic nutritionist certification in 2019 through the American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA) and her meditation teacher certification in 2019 with the Priority Academy. In January 2020, she became a certified Yoga for Healthy Aging teacher. She completed her 200-hour YTT at Castro Valley Yoga and gained a certificate in Yoga Nidra in 2022. She brings her passion for wellness and yoga philosophy to the mat and encourages students in her classes to let go of preconceptions of how yoga "should" be done and to pay attention to what works for them in the moment.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CLASSES AT PRANA?

Combination of flow and alignment-based focusing on making poses accessible for any body at any age.

  • Yes! I love ambient music and my favorite artists are Sol Rising, DJ Taz Rashid, and Music Within.

  • Without yoga, I'd be a basket case! But seriously, it teaches me every single day to breathe and accept whatever is happening...even if I don't like it.

  • Clarity and Connection by Yung Pueblo

  • Seeing people's faces when they come out of Savasana. We should all walk around feeling like this!

  • More in tune with their bodies and more accepting of themselves just as they are
